Supreme Count Judge Roberts, My thoughts
After careful thought and reading about Mr. Robert's history, I'm not optimistic that he will be a voice for the downtrodden. Not an Earl Warren as many think and hope for. Forget it.
The reason is that basically, he has a stone heart He has never suffered, never had to scratch for a living, had a silver spoon all his life, and that's the way life is for him. Stale flat and unprofitable. His dad, gave him a private special education, yet, he neglected to do the same for his three sisters. Such a double standard. What a total jerk, his dad was.
This will give you some indication on how he will treat women. Undoubtedly, he will apply the tenets of "American Sharia" in his decisions. Especially, since he was raised that way, to view himself as the master over women, an outdated concept, and sadly, the world's experiencing a resurgent of this attitude, not only, in the Middle East, but also, in the United States.
The reason, I feel, that He will not change, and forever, for forty years be a tyrant to the oppressed, is that for a man to change, ie, brainwashed, is the word, or more palatable, thought conversion, he must be excited into an hyperemotional state.
In this state, the mind becomes sensitive to new ideas. And new ideas can only intrude when this hyper state is achieved. The can be accomplished by profound sadness, ecstasy, joy, hate, you name it , any hyperemotional state is the needed requirement.
Since Roberts, is, well, lets say just plain Blah and Dull, he's totally resistant to thought conversion. Take for example, his days at Harvard, during the end of the Vietnam War, he remained untouched by the injustices of the horrors perpetrated on the Vietnamese, and the poor in this country. He is as one would say "aemotional" , without emotion. And this is the best state to be in if one wants to resist thought conversion.
Hence, he will never change, and forever will be a throne in the backs of the oppressed.
So, the hope that he will be an Earl Warren, forget it. I aint gonna happen.
If you are interested in thought conversion, I would suggest reading the classic by William Sargent's, "Battle for the Minds".
